Computer Troubleshooting and Repair Techniques

If you’re having problems with your computer or thinking to call computer or Laptop Repair Malad experts first try to do it by yourself start by trying these suggestions.

Reboot your computer

Get in the habit of restarting your computer at least once a day as a general process — If possible, reboot your computer every day. Simply shut all open applications, click on the Start button in the lower left-hand corner, and then select Restart from the drop-down menu.

Inability to shut or hide programs

Do you have programs that are frozen on your screen, with nothing occurring with them, and that you are unable to close or hide?

Consider the following

While keeping the “ctrl” and “alt” keys pressed, press the “del” key to exit the program. The Task Manager window will appear as a result of this action. Take a look at the list of currently running applications under the Applications tab, and choose the one that is not responding. To complete the task, select “Finish Task.” Even though it may take several tries to get the computer to react, this approach is typically successful and will allow you to clear down the apps that are no longer responding. After that, restart your computer.

Frozen computer

The following steps can be used if your computer is jammed or frozen, and neither the keyboard nor the mouse will respond, and you are unable to even shut down your computer. To restart your computer, press the reset button, which is normally found on the front of the computer near the power button. If that is not an option, or if it does not work, turn off the power, wait approximately 30 seconds, and then turn on the power. Alternatively, if a conventional push of the power button does not work, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, and the computer should be forced to shut down. If it does not work, disconnect the computer from the power source.

Notebook computer will not turn on

In some cases, the built-in power management of the notebook computer becomes confused and refuses to switch on. Disconnect the power adapter cord and battery from the laptop to reset the computer. Hold the power button down for a total of 10 seconds. Connect only the power adapter and see whether the computer will boot. If everything appears to be in working order, reconnect the battery and try restarting again. If there are problems when the battery is inserted, the battery may be defective.

Updates

Make sure you are up to date with your Windows operating system regularly.

Update your antivirus software regularly – Make sure that your antivirus software is up to date frequently. Ideally, you should plan them to run automatically at least once a week, if not more frequently. Look for live updates or auto-updates in your antivirus application when you first launch it. To use it, simply click on it and run it. This will ensure that your machine is protected against the most recent viruses that have been discovered.

Scan

Make sure to scan your computer for viruses and malware at least once every week. To do so, navigate to Start > All Programs > and choose the icon for your antivirus application. Look for the Full Scan option on the menu bar. Remove any viruses that may have been present and rescan. If the same virus continues re-infecting your computer, bring it in as soon as possible for a checkup. It is possible that your antivirus software is insufficient or that it is malfunctioning. Schedule the execution of your antivirus application regularly; at the very least once a week should be enough.

Warranty claims

If your laptop is still under warranty, it is strongly recommended that you take it to the company’s service facility. Self-repair of a laptop may violate an extended warranty of up to three years if purchased.
