Challenges of doing business during Fpandemic

Historically Business have always been facing challenges. Business being market driven activity and offspring of people’s needs and desires, it faces unexpected amount of critical challenges. During covid people were locked in their houses since March 2020 and  frequent business shutdowns drove almost all the business traffic from the physical market places to online e-commerce highways. No more congestion on the roads but mostly all traffic jams on the roods to e-commerce. The challenge was to survive the onslaught of digitalization if a business was not tech savvy or be able to adapt to new technology or be ready to be cremated.

Migratory labor losing its means of livelihood and large unorganized segments of trade, commerce and services evaporating like steam of boiling water led to paralytic functioning of markets.  No customers, no money to spend, no demand and low consumption are the humongous challenges facing reality of life in the country adding to poverty and misery of the masses of urban and rural India. The New normal is excessive use of “No” for anything and everything. It means  isolation quarantization, social distancing, sanitization and painful self-confinement to save life

Businesses are on oxygen wherever its available and otherwise dying like covid patients without attention, oxygen, hospital beds and medicines. Businesses can’t be admitted into the covid clinics,  hospitals, covid wards to stay alive in the dying markets .Hence the challenges are stupendous business activities like  demand, financing ,buying ,selling  ,manufacturing and sales promotion are at the lowest ebb close to extinction . All areas of businesses are bombarding and testing   the skills and shock absorbing capacity of businessmen. They are now in Coda Soup.

Businesses have to face unimaginable uncertainty without any clarity of how long it will last and no relief in sight because covid has become regular and semi-permanent guest in Indian households  and in society. Hence to stay alive businesses have to be moved to online with  lesser manpower , limited costs, prices and reduced demand for product and services that too only essential for survival

However, I would like to end on a positive note that consumption level of Indian customers is not dead but dormant due to economic constraints and lack of Covid relief .Once covid is thrown into the trash can, business will bounce back with double the strength and customers will be in the market with insatiable appetite. We just vaccinate the masses in order to vaccinate the business at breakneck speed before its extinction   Avoid busting at all costs. Busting is the life threatening challenge confronting all businesses weather manufacturing, marketing, transporting, educating, serving, hospitality, and transport.

Businesses have to understand that it is the consumer and their collective power that will keep them alive and make them thrive .Hence, businesses must adopt all measure to kill covid and people must support such efforts. Patience and cooperation of people will make our society and businesses survive in the days to come.
